VoiceToMD
Privacy Policy
Last Updated: May 9, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Anzel Strategy ("we," "us," or "our") handles information in connection with the VoiceToMD iOS application (the "App"). By using the App, you agree to the practices described here.
VoiceToMD is built around a single principle: your voice notes belong to you, and your audio never leaves your device. This Policy explains what that means in practice.
1. Quick Summary
For people who want the short version:
- No accounts. VoiceToMD does not require you to register, sign in, or provide your name, email address, or any other identifying information.
- Audio never leaves your device. Recording and transcription run entirely on your iPhone using on-device machine-learning models. We do not transmit, store, or have access to your audio or transcripts.
- You choose where transcripts go. When you route a transcript to a destination — iCloud Drive, your email, a webhook, an SFTP server, or an iOS Shortcut — that content is governed by that destination, not by us.
- Optional anonymous analytics. With your permission, we collect anonymous usage signals to improve the App. No transcript content, no audio, no destination details. You can turn this off at any time.
- Apple handles billing. VoiceToMD Pro is sold through the App Store. Apple processes all payments; we never see your payment information.
The full policy follows.
2. Information We Do Not Collect
Because VoiceToMD is designed around on-device processing, the App does not collect or transmit the following to Anzel Strategy:
- Your name, email address, phone number, or any account information (there are no accounts)
- Your audio recordings
- Your transcripts
- The content of any notes you create
- The URLs, hostnames, addresses, or credentials of the destinations you configure
- Your contacts, photo library, calendar, or location
This is enforced by the App's architecture: VoiceToMD makes no transcription API calls and contacts no Anzel-controlled server during normal operation.
3. Information We Collect Only With Your Permission
3.1 Anonymous Usage Analytics
If you leave the Share anonymous analytics toggle enabled in Settings → Privacy, the App sends anonymous usage signals to TelemetryDeck, our analytics provider. These signals describe App behavior in the aggregate — for example, that a recording was made with a particular Whisper model, or that a paywall was shown — without identifying you or your content.
The analytics events do not include:
- Transcript content
- Audio
- Destination URLs, hostnames, or credentials
- Names, emails, or any personally identifying information
You can turn analytics off at any time in Settings → Privacy → Share anonymous analytics. When you turn it off, no events are sent and none are queued for later sending. TelemetryDeck's own privacy commitments are described at telemetrydeck.com/privacy.
3.2 Apple App Analytics
If you have App Store analytics enabled in your iOS Settings, Apple may collect anonymized data about the App's performance through its standard App Store and iOS analytics infrastructure. This is governed by Apple's privacy policies and managed in your iOS Settings, not by us.
3.3 Crash Reports
The App may use Apple's MetricKit framework to surface crash and performance diagnostics. These reports are anonymized and do not include transcript content or audio.
4. Information That Stays on Your Device
VoiceToMD stores the following on your iPhone (not on any Anzel-controlled server):
- Your audio recordings, retained per the audio retention policy you configure in each profile (a short window measured in days, then auto-purged). You can purge audio at any time in Settings → Audio Storage.
- Your transcripts, until you delete them or they are purged with their parent recording.
- Your profiles, destinations, and settings, stored locally via Apple's SwiftData framework.
- Your destination credentials (SFTP passwords, private keys, webhook bearer tokens), stored in the iOS Keychain. These never leave the device, never travel through Anzel infrastructure, and are used only to send your content to the destinations you have configured.
When iOS itself backs up your device — to iCloud or to a computer — your VoiceToMD data may be included in that backup, governed by Apple's backup terms and your iOS settings.
5. User-Configured Destinations
The App allows you to send transcripts (and, in some configurations, audio) to destinations that you configure: iCloud Drive folders, your email, your webhooks, your SFTP servers, or iOS Shortcuts you have created.
Once your content reaches a destination you configure, it is governed by that destination's terms and privacy practices, not by this Policy. Anzel Strategy does not see, store, or have access to the content you route to your own destinations.
You are responsible for understanding the privacy practices of the destinations you configure and for ensuring they are appropriate for the content you send to them.
6. Subscriptions and Billing
VoiceToMD Pro is sold via Apple's StoreKit. Apple handles all billing. Anzel Strategy does not receive, see, or store your payment information. Apple's privacy practices apply to the billing transaction.
If you cancel your subscription or request a refund, Apple manages those processes through your Apple Account.
7. Permissions VoiceToMD Requests
The App requests the following iOS permissions, all of which you control:
- Microphone — required to record voice notes. You can revoke microphone access at any time in iOS Settings.
- iCloud Drive folder access — only when you add an iCloud destination, and only for the specific folder you choose via the iOS folder picker. Access is granted via a security-scoped bookmark that you can revoke by removing the destination.
- Notifications (optional) — used to surface a "Note ready to send" notification when a background transcription completes. Disable in iOS Settings if you prefer.
- Action Button, Siri, Control Center (optional) — system-level integrations for quick capture, configured by you in iOS Settings or Shortcuts.
VoiceToMD does not request access to your contacts, photo library, calendar, location, health data, or any other personal-data category beyond the items above.
8. Children's Privacy
VoiceToMD is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children under 13 — and because we do not collect identifying information from any user, the App's design makes such collection structurally impossible at the Anzel Strategy level.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child under 13 has used the App in a way that requires our attention, please contact us at anzelstrategy.com/support.
9. Your Privacy Rights
Because we collect minimal information about you, the practical effect of most privacy rights (access, deletion, portability) is limited at the Anzel Strategy level — we do not hold the data you would request access to or deletion of. Your VoiceToMD content lives on your device and at the destinations you configure.
That said:
- Access and deletion of your VoiceToMD data: delete the App from your device to remove all locally stored data. Manage data at your configured destinations through those destinations' own controls.
- Analytics opt-out: turn off Share anonymous analytics in Settings → Privacy at any time.
- California residents (CCPA): you have the right to know what personal information is collected about you, the right to delete personal information, and the right to opt out of the "sale" of personal information. We do not sell personal information. To exercise any CCPA right, contact us at anzelstrategy.com/support.
- EU and UK residents (GDPR / UK GDPR): to the extent the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection. Because we do not collect identifying information, most of these rights are exercised via your device (delete the App) or your configured destinations. To raise a GDPR / UK GDPR question, contact us at anzelstrategy.com/support.
10. Data Security
Information stored on your device is protected by iOS's built-in encryption and the protections you have configured (passcode, FaceID, Touch ID). Destination credentials are stored in the iOS Keychain. Anonymous analytics, when enabled, are transmitted over HTTPS to TelemetryDeck.
Because we do not hold your audio, transcripts, or account information on Anzel-controlled servers, the surface area for an Anzel-side data breach affecting your VoiceToMD content is essentially zero. Risks at the destinations you configure (your iCloud, your webhook host, your SFTP server) are governed by those services' security practices.
11. Third-Party Components
VoiceToMD is built on top of components and services provided by other parties:
- Apple frameworks — including AVFoundation (audio), SwiftData (storage), Keychain Services (credentials), App Intents (Action Button / Siri / Shortcuts), and ActivityKit (Live Activity)
- WhisperKit (Argmax Inc.) — on-device transcription, runs on the Apple Neural Engine
- SpeakerKit (Argmax Inc.) — on-device speaker diarization, runs on the Apple Neural Engine
- Citadel (open-source SwiftNIO SSH library) — used by SFTP destinations
- TelemetryDeck (when analytics is enabled) — anonymous usage analytics
These components run on your device or, in TelemetryDeck's case, receive only the anonymous signals described in Section 3.1.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page reflects the date of the most recent change. Material changes will be communicated through the App or on this page. Your continued use of the App after the effective date of any change constitutes your acceptance of the updated Policy.
